Work experience

  • 2005 - Present: Implementing a dynamic and flexible component-oriented service platform – Ph.D. thesis work in the ADELE team, LIG Laboratory Grenoble University. Thesis work merges concepts from software architecture, component-based software engineering and service-oriented computing principles to provide a framework enabling the design and execution of dynamically adaptable applications. The resulting framework, named iPOJO, is hosted as a subproject of the Apache Felix project. iPOJO has been applied in the ANSO ITEA project in the home application context and is also used in the core of the ObjectWeb JOnAS Java EE server. This work was performed under the direction of Dr. Richard S. Hall and Philippe Lalanda.

  • 2004 -2005: Autonomic Administration in Edge Computing networks – Master's work in the ADELE team, LSR Laboratory Grenoble University. Investigated and proposed how to apply Autonomic Computing principles in Edge Computing networks, where the aim is to deploy resources, such as calculation or data, closer to users. The purpose of such work is to decrease the administration cost of this system and to increase quality of service. Designed and implemented a policy-driven autonomic loop in order to administer an Edge Computing network composed of Java EE servers.
  • 2003-2004: Dynamic application framework for Microsoft .NET – Internship in the ADELE team, LSR Laboratory Grenoble University. Studied how to implement a dynamic application framework for .NET. The goal was to determine if it was possible to achieve functionality similar to the Java-based OSGi service platform. Defined and implemented four alternative approaches for such the dynamic framework, each with various advantages and disadvantages as a result of the differences between .NET's and Java's mechanisms for dealing with dynamism.
